Boggy, Hobyah

Hobyahs are one of the more terrifying Boggys, it’s one of the species that make the Unseelie court particularly Unseelie. Well, for one, they are savage, cannibalistic and evil. They kidnap and eat the children of most humanoid races, in this picture a poor little Goblin or Dwarven kid most likely, and eat them.
In fact, that is their main thing they love to do, eat children. When confronted by brave adults they are not above eating them either, but they prefer the tender flash of children.

Hobyah are about 3 feet tall and have pale sickly green skin and grey or white ragged hair. They have a horrid line of teeth in their mouth and pale pitiless eyes. Hobyahs have tiny little horns on their heads and the classic batty ears that most Boggies and Goblinoids have except they are more akin to Gremlins.
Hobyahs have various fairy magic that misleads and distracts they use to make children go wayward and isolated so it’s easier to snatch them up. They don’t prefer taking on adults of the bigger folks, like Humans, Maugs, High Elves, and even dwarves so they need to isolate the children in order to do so. However they are a bit more bold with the smaller folks like Goblins, Gnomes, Leprechauns, Clurichauns, Brownies, Haflings, etc…and so have more of a reputation amongst the smaller folk than the larger. An adult Gigas or even Human would be dangerous for a Hobbyah one on one. However, they do consider the larger folk’s children as a delicacy since they are harder to get. But, make no mistake, no race of people have more Hobyah, Barguest and Padfoot hunters than the Goblins, it is a real career for Goblin adventurers and you can fetch a handsome bounty bringing back a Hobyah head.
